GOLDFRAPP’s newest body of work ‘Head First’ is living proof of how brilliant the duo accomplishes the task to redefine and invent their music every time anew, and the youngest part of a consequential and complete piece of art. The album spans wide from the compelling, electronic ballads of the Mercury prize nominated debut ‘Felt Mountain’ over the distorted dance floor elements of ‘Black Cherry’ to the glamour of the 2005 spectacle ‘Supernatural’ and the playful heart of ‘Seventh Tree’.
But GOLDFRAPP were always able to reproduce their engaging tunes live, no matter if they were playing to a club audience or thousands of people at a festival. That’s the special thing about this project and if you want to experience how they’re cast such a spell on an audience you should be there in Cologne when they’re going to do it at Essigfabrik in September.
