DREAM THEATER have a legendary status already but one of their greatest adventure is still ahead of them: ‘The Astonishing’, a double concept album with 34 songs, will be released on 29th January 2016 which was recorded with an orchestra and takes place in a dystopian, retro-futuristic world. The lead single ‘The Gift of Music’ has celebrated its premiere on Rolling Stone and can be listened to HERE! The song is available as an immediate download when you pre-order the album on iTunes and Amazon MP3. ‘The Astonishing’ is the successor of ‘Dream Theater’ (2013) which reached position four in Germany. It was recorded by the band in the Cove City Sound Studios in New York. John Petrucci is the producer, the engineering/ mixing was done by Richard Chycki (Aerosmith, Rush), the legendary composer and conductor led the orchestra. ‘The Astonishing’ takes place in a retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic dystopia which is governed by a medieval feudalism. The people long for a chosen one who will ascend and fight the empire which is coined by the endless thumping of noisy machines and the illusion of safety in a colourless society.
