In 2018, Gothic rockers ASP embarked on a very special concert tour. To mark the tenth anniversary of their work ‘Zaubererbruder - Der Krabat-Liederzyklus’, they performed the entire double album live and in full length. These two new songs are not only released as part of the fabulous concert recording ‘Zaubererbruder Live & Extended’, which will also be released in spring 2019, but also in a studio version as a double single. In order not prioritise any of the two pieces over the other, they are released with a double-cover packaging, which once again shows beautiful detail in the artwork - rarely seen these days.
The rousing euphoric track ‘Osternacht’ is in stylish contrast to the heaviness of ‘Geh und heb dein Grab aus, mein Freund’; both new pieces fit perfectly into the poetic pull and musical versatility of the original album. (On the CD and the vinyl there is even a note as to where the songs would have belonged in the original album of 2008.) The three musical guests of the tour - Patty Gurdy, Nikos Mavridis and Thomas Zoller - were also invited to the studio to complete the full heavy Rock power of the ASP sound with Kantorka vocals, violin and flutes. Even after more than ten years the magical spell of ASP’s Krabat version will be hard to resist. Now it’s time to learn the full story.

To mark the tenth anniversary of their work ‘Zaubererbruder - Der Krabat-Liederzyklus’, they are performing the complete double album live and in full length. These exceptional artists have gathered three very special guest musicians and spared no expense and effort to record this memorable event for posterity.
Flashback to 2008. ASP publish an extraordinary work: On two CDs, singer and mastermind Asp Spreng tells his interpretation of the Sorbian legend about sorcerer’s apprentice Krabat, clearly inspired, yet also distinguishable from Otfried Preußler’s novel of the same name. The album turns out to be a great success and extends their enthusiastic fan base, who, from now on follow the work of the band. This mixture of poetic pull and musical versatility captivates many - and has never left them since. Not the listeners. And not the musicians.
Now, the record of the tour ‘Zaubererbruder live & extended’ will be released as a live CD - for the entire two and a half hours viewers can revel in the Krabat saga, along with new breath-taking pieces ‘Osternacht’, ‘Geh und heb dein Grab aus, mein Freund’, ‘Der Letzte (Krabat-Reprise)’ and the reading ‘Das andere Ende’. The full power of the band as well as the three guest musicians was mixed by star producer Vincent Sorg (DIE TOTEN HOSEN, IN EXTREMO) using a keen sense for the story, so that the listener not only experiences the concert, but also the captivating story through which Asp Spreng performs as a sympathetic storyteller.
The artwork for the cover is once again beautifully designed by the original illustrator of the Krabat song cycle, Meran Karanitant. Even after more than ten years no one will be able to escape the magic spell of Krabat and his magician brothers. Now it's time to learn the full story again.
