And again I review a band from the land of Mounties, Maple Syrup and Keanu Reeves: Canada! Not to forget this is the second record in a short period of time with Ev Aitch on the microphone (also vocals on ONYXHEAD). As expected this is dry and sober old-school Heavy Metal with a naïve but charming NWOBHM touch to it. The melodies and riffs are not too complex or melodic but effective none the less, the guys get it done. TAINTED SØUL was conjured on February 20th 2016 and this is their self-titled debut LP. The lyrical themes of this Port Coquitlam four-piece are mainly Fantasy.
Conclusion: This is mostly half-baked to be honest but I can see the potential for a musical evolution if Ev would drop the almost punky attitude on vocals and would replicate what he did with ONYXHEAD.
