And once again I get blasted to pieces by a band from South America, this time the home base is Santa Catarina, Brazil and the band is IGNITED. The musical alignment of IGNITED is rather classical, there are elements of US Metal (the typical mix of Power and Thrash Metal) but IGNITED also use the energy of the undying NWOBHM (soaring vocals that remind of Dickinson and Halford), powerful melodies, beautifully thought-out riffs and a drummer that really plays precise and full force. Vocalist Denis Lima delivers the soaring vocals to the high melodic scenery and both bass-man Benedet and Castro on guitar are awesome wingmen to this air raid siren machine. If you dig the old-school and the NWOBHM you should check out the songs ‘Rotting’ and ‘Roaring Gears’.
Conclusion: For fans of IRON MAIDEN, ICED EARTH and JUDAS PRIEST.
