This year’s M’era Luna Festival got everybody going even before it started. The line-up had something for everyone: rock sounds, electronic beats and even softer sounds. And with 25,000 people making their way to the airport in Hildesheim in order to enjoy some of it, the festival was announced as sold-out. The weather seemed promising and got some sunshine but not too high temperatures to the visitors and smoothed the way for the first day of the festival, including many great bands and special shows!

Rock im Pott 2013: Biffy Clyro, Deftones, Casper, Tenacious D, Volbeat & System of a Down
When the festival season is slowly coming to an end it is fantastic to celebrate Rock’n’Roll once more. That must have been the thought of the promoters of Rock im Pott, creating this one-day festival last year, when over 40,000 fans celebrated bands like RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS or PLACEBO at the Veltins Arena. This year, nearly 30,000 music lovers found their way into the stadium where they celebrated, never minding the rain outside since the roof of the arena was closed, all in all six bands, headlined by fantastic SYSTEM OF A DOWN.

Live Act : Waiting For Words - Party : After show Depeche Mode
On most of DEPECHE MODE’s dates, since ages, the after shows are generally part of a good devotee evening. The occasion to meet some other fans from different parts of the world, have some drinks with long time no see friends and occasionally, enjoy another live acts. Having been in a lot of after show parties in Germany in the past, and once in Italy, those events can sometimes be massive with up to 500 fans even more. And just like any DM related topic, debates often take place wherever an after show should be a 100% DM or not. I've always been against the DM brainwashing machine and always prefer mixed atmospheres and ZeN's after show in Nimes were advertised as such. On top of that, WAITING FOR WORDS (ZeN's band) was programmed for a special concert, out of the tour context with promised surprises.

Useless to say, after my deception of last DEPECHE MODE gig at Le Stade de France, that my main interest in going to Nimes was more holiday purposes and discovering this beautiful antic site of Nimes Arena that the gig in itself...

Hörnerfest Open Air, Brande-Hörnerkirchen, Germany
28th-29th June 2013
Hörnerfest 2013: Berlinskibeat, Corvus Corax, Darion Narrenbart, Dudelwerze, Elmfeuer, Fiddler's Green, Flutensang, Grimner, Harpyie, Heidelvolk, Manegarm, Mr Hurley und die Pulveraffen, Offlimits, Ragnaroek, Sonor Teutonicus, The Privateer, Trollheim, Tyr, Vogelfrey
We arrived, as is my habit, at my favourite of all festivals on the Thursday evening. With a great line-up including some truly awesome bands I felt fine and everything was as you would expect it to be with well organised toilets, showers in place and the Middle Ages Market already set up. Quite a few people were already there enjoying the bar and the food which was available nice and early and I found myself looking forward to the line-up of the following day.
