Album Review

FREAKANGEL is another project of SUICIDAL ROMANCE’s front man Dmitry i. who collaborates this time with two other experienced musicians in order to produce an interesting mixture of styles such as industrial and dark electro with some slant to trance and even rock. The efforts of all band members developed into an album, entitled ‘The Faults of Humanity’ which was released through Alfa Matrix. The CD starts with an intro that generally prepares listeners for the severe sonic attack of the first full-length track ‘Gods Blind Game’. The song just penetrates into your head, captivating and carrying you into the world of heavy beats, powerful bass lines and intriguing electronic effects.

It’s quite danceable as well, but this can be said about all the material presented on the album and sometimes it’s hard to catch the point when one piece stops and another starts, as the music is rushing in a single stream almost all the time. One more song that can be marked out of the industrial insanity is ‘My Darling Bullet’, because here the general aggressive, distorted vocals is diluted with nice female singing which makes the track peculiar and creates a bit of a mellower atmosphere compared to the rest of the material. As a whole the album is rather good, especially for a debut work and of course it’s intended for dance floors. It will also do for mere listening as such music can be a great background, so lovers of the style won’t be disappointed.
