Diary of Dreams & Slave Republic
Live music is always fun, needless to say. And then there are gigs that immediately put a smile on your face when you think back, no matter how much time passes. I'm talking about those truly memorable concert nights thanks to high-class bands that take you on a thrilling and touching sonic journey as only the best of the best can do. Here's a confession: Friday 13th has kind of always been a lucky day for me. Also this October when I was on the road heading to the Kulturfabrik in Krefeld. Why? To see one of my absolute favourite band again. Who? The one and only DIARY OF DREAMS. The creative combo around maestro Adrian Hates was in town for their second gig of the “hell in Eden Tour 2017” and there was no way I was gonna miss this. As always, expectations were high, and as always, DOD managed to exceed them. The Krefeld crowd, that came out to celebrate Electronic Dark Wave at its finest, had a blast.

Tanita Tikaram & Sarah Walk
I didn't know what to expect that Wednesday night at the Kulturkirche in Cologne. That probably happened to everyone who just went to hear TANITA TIKARAM's beautiful voice singing ‘Twist in my Sobriety’. But that's a hit from 1988! Every song became a piece in a puzzle of a repertoire of a nearly 30 year career. SARAH WALK took care the opening with bitter-sweet songs of her debut album.

Sigur Rós
Attending a live performance truly takes the experience of this otherworldly music to a higher level! The now three-piece had announced their European autumn tour at the beginning of the year with a video trailer and delivered nothing less than a spectacular audio-visual masterpiece on stage. The more than two hour long evening with SIGUR RÓS in the sold-out Palladium omitted a support act and offered two sets separated by an intermission instead. Featuring well-loved songs as well as new material, the show also provided a preview to the 8th studio album currently on the way.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Had you been lucky enough, you could have been one of the ~100 chosen fans that were baptized on stage by the “Prince of Darkness”. It was NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS showing their obsession with death, religion, love and violence on a sold out night at Düsseldorf’s Mitsubishi Electric Halle.
