Lamb
It’s a celebration! For LAMB it is 21 years since the release of their first and most successful album. Who doesn’t want to revive the late 90s and its cool electronic trip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass sound? And for those who are too young to tell? Well, the 90s are back in many forms. That's why the youngest know and that's why they were there too. That speaks about the wide range of ages that enjoyed that crowded Friday night at Die Kantine in Cologne.

Maximo Park, Flawes
The German city of Münster, my home town, has been quite blessed recently in regard to great concerts. On a Sunday night with lovely autumn weather MAXIMO PARK made a stop here, and it was even the finishing gig of their recent tour!

Sisters of Mercy, The Membranes
There are numerous acts in the so-called “Goth scene” who refuse to write and release new songs. Instead of creating something fresh they earn their money by putting out re-issues of old albums and playing lots of concerts. FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM, DAF (well, they at least released 2 new songs in the last years), FRONT 242, THE SISTERS OF MERCY - four famous names without any new output in the last decade. But nowadays one of those bands simply doesn't fit to the other three. FOTN, 242 and DAF at least convince their fans with energetic live performances while SISTERS' appearances just lead to continuous disappointments. Before Andrew Eldritch and his three exchangeable Minions on laptop and guitars entered the stage of the sold out FZW in Dortmund, we had the chance to witness a performance of a solid support.

Prague Gothic Treffen 2017 with Black Nail Cabaret, Sweet Ermengarde, Veil Of Light, Formalin and many DJs
Previous parts of Prague Gothic Treffen festival were DJ only parties where famous musicians came to play their vision of a dark scene music. Among those who were presenting here earlier were Daniel Mayer (Haujobb, Architect), Bruno Kramm (Das Ich), Volker Zacharias (Girls Under Glass) and others. The festival exists already for 11 years, but only twice there were real bands and not DJ sets. And in 2017 the format has changed. Now the main guests of the program are the bands, but the organizers did not forget about the famous musicians with their DJing. The event was held in two days in three different places. A good opportunity to see the groups I've tried to catch in Germany for a long time, and to visit new places in Prague.

Bush, RavenEye
“Chemicals between us” are still working after all these years. On this last Friday night in September one of the few remaining legends from the Grunge era of the 90ies were scheduled to appear in the cosy E-Werk in Cologne: Frontman Gavin Rossdale and his band BUSH.
