Matthias Hübner (vocals) from Nova-Spes
Should music be political or explore the topics that many people find “uncomfortable” with? Can music be treated as cure? About the most recent, very touching video ‘Back Home’, but also about the individual triggers that release music creativity and also some concert experience with Matthias Hübner from NOVA-SPES.

Nino Sable
Nino Sable is known as singer of his band AEON SABLE and from his former solo project MELANCULIA. He grew up between Portugal and Germany and played in a lot of bands in both countries. Now he started his own solo project. Nino released his songs monthly, starting in January 2021, so until now there is enough material for an album. After listening to his beautiful, dark and melancholic songs I was curious to know more about him. Now I had the chance to talk to Nino about his personal history, his musical influences, his plans with the solo project and his ideas about an album.

Lars Kappeler (bass guitar) from Sweet Ermengarde
SWEET ERMENGARDE is one of the bands which impressed me most on the Stella Nomine Festival in August. Their dark sound - of which some fans at the festival said it is surely inspired by FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM - and their awesome performance electrified all the people in front of the stage. The dark voice of singer Daniel Schweigler, the heavy bass guitar of band founder Lars Kappeler and the epic soundscape let you immerse in the music and forget about the world for a while. Now I was curious to know what the band is currently planning. After their two albums ‘Raynham Hall’ (2013) and ‘Ex Oblivione’ (2016), SWEET ERMENGARDE released their double single ‘Once You Break / Typhonian Trance’ earlier this year. I talked to Lars Kappeler about a musician’s life in times of the pandemic, their first gig after the lockdown, his own musical influences and his plans with the band.

DIAF
I first came across DIAF’s music on the occasion of Prague Gothic Treffen in August 2021 and I decided it’s worth further introduction. As the project’s author says about it himself, “DIAF is an expression of the dark side of the Bavarian soul. It was founded in the beginning of 2020, with the debut album ‘WEIDA’ being released in July 2020.” We develop a bit on music, live performances and creative process.

Alex Møklebust (vocals) and Kim Ljung (bass, vocals) from Zeromancer
August 2021. As strange as life sometimes plays - I just moved to Norway a few days ago for some months, sitting in my new-to-be-home in Oslo and requesting an interview with the Norwegian band ZEROMANCER to talk about the release of their upcoming new album, ‘Orchestra of Knives’, on 24th September 2021. The first three singles have been received with much love and it’s unquestionable that they have been missed. So, a few weeks later - Norwegian late summer evening outside, meeting Alex and Kim to talk about their upcoming new album, the work process, not leaving out the current circumstances of the world situation of course, but also talking about perspectives and the timing; and as it is - about how probably every situation can have its different sides.
