A new gathering for lovers of dark music is rising in the heart of the Ruhr area: Obsidian Echoes Festival 2026 promises an unforgettable night of Post-Punk, Darkwave, Coldwave and shadow-drenched Electronics. With an already impressive line-up and more artists still to be announced, the festival is shaping up to become one of the essential events for the dark alternative scene in 2026.
Leading the first wave of confirmations are German Post-Punk and Darkwave legends PINK TURNS BLUE, performing an exclusive festival show with a full set. Formed in Cologne in 1985, the band remain one of the most influential names in the European Darkwave movement. Their unmistakable blend of driving basslines, atmospheric guitars and emotionally charged vocals has earned them a devoted international following across generations.
Exploring themes of longing, emotional alienation and introspection, PINK TURNS BLUE create a live atmosphere that is both intense and deeply immersive. Their appearance at Obsidian Echoes is set to be a true highlight for fans of the darker side of music history.
Also confirmed are NIGHT IN ATHENS, bringing their hypnotic fusion of Dark Synth, Coldwave and haunting electronic textures to the stage. The project of Greek-born, London-based artist Tina Boleti combines minimalist arrangements, icy synthscapes and evocative vocals into a sound that moves effortlessly between introspective melancholy and club-driven energy. Their performance will add another captivating layer to the festival’s sonic spectrum.
Further confirmed acts include SKEMER, SAD MADONA and GHOSTBELLS, each contributing their own distinctive shades of darkness to the evening’s line-up. And this is only the beginning: additional high-profile artists will be announced in the coming weeks. A night of dark atmospheres, pulsating rhythms and unforgettable live performances awaits.
