Review Flash

German Darkwave veterans PINK TURNS BLUE roll-out this moody slice of melancholic Pop as a further taster for forthcoming album ’Tainted’, scheduled for release this September. Always good at easing and teasing the most from a simple melody almost effortlessly, there’s a quiet understated grace to the band - not easy when hampered by having had a couple of BIG SONGS back in the gloomy fog of the Eighties. ‘You Still Mean Too Much To Me’ sounds almost too obvious to be effective at first, but it’s repetition and gradual layering, with that world-weary voice holding everything together like emotional glue, is a sign of intelligent, mature song-writing at its very best.

Conclusion: Complex crafting made to sound easy, this is the trademark of all truly great artists, and the album promises to be something very special.
