Review Flash

Sometimes the saying “opposites attract” is true, the pairing of chaotic / erratic Sludge lords AGE OF THE WOLF and the slightly softer and more melodic slaves of the fuzz TEL is a good example. Where they approach of AGE OF THE WOLF is to wreck as much havoc as possible while dissecting the very rules of doom TEL are the cold and distant view onto this worlds pain and hopelessness. These bands are direct opposites or ends of the same spectrum, one is furious and unleashed upon this realm and the other feels like looking in from a cold outside place. The vocal approaches alone differ so much (most of the time) that I can clearly say I do favour TEL for the more melodic overall compositions. The sludgier approach of AGE OF THE WOLF is almost devoid of classic melodies or narratives that enable me to follow them (it is not my cup of tea but it is not bad in its own rights). All in all, I, almost, always like the more melodic approach a bit more.

Conclusion: If you like every aspect and variation of Doom, you should give this a few spins.
