The countdown is on: RICK ASTLEY is coming back to the capital on March 10th! The friendly, forever-young Pop icon continues to win over new fans, whether it’s while sharing the stage with the Foo FIGHTERS, TAKE THAT, or BLOSSOMS, becoming an unexpected social media phenomenon, or simply enjoying the endless love bestowed upon his groundbreaking hit ‘Never Gonna Give You Up,’ which gained momentum through its use in an extremely moving scene in ‘Ted Lasso.’
Indeed, since his return to the top of the charts in 2016 with ‘50,’ Rick has achieved the most successful chart placement of his entire career. The next milestone was the release of his long-awaited ninth studio album, ‘Are We There Yet?’ in October 2023. ‘Are We There Yet?’ encapsulates Rick’s sound, reflecting on his experiences since the release of ‘Beautiful Life’ in 2018 and building upon them. Some of the new songs were born during the lockdown in 2020, but he consciously decided to leave them unfinished until it was possible to play them live again. One such song, a simple, plaintive piano ballad titled ‘Blue Sky,’ speaks of the natural serenity that emerged during the lockdown.
The Columbiahalle in Berlin provides the perfect setting for this musical event.
