Northern Lite, Noblesse Oblige
Actually you’d rather sleep off if a year starts this way. Already at the beginning of 2007 this TV madness with the howling mass and everything the first league of music has to offer. Laid down the performance and dashing out of the after show in Berlin the next morning with a bunch of promises of the music industry and a bitter taste in the mouth. Usually a band splits up then right away. At least one has to go to rehab and the rest is working on their respective solo careers. So you have to pay respect for the fact that NORTHERN LITE are still there. They used the following rainy summer 2007 to work on a new album ‘Super Black’, released in March 2008.

Oomph!, All Ends
Even in Music it’s hard to please everyone. There are the ones who want to stick to the roots and the once who demand a development. Award winning band OOMPH! freed themselves from all this expectations and perhaps that’s why they managed to merge both worlds with their tenth, once again self-produced album ‘Monster’. “We deliberately retreated and indulged ourselves in the necessary muse, because we wanted our anniversary album to become a matured work and no rush job.” Explains guitarist Flux, so the band was resisting the urge to swiftly enter the studio, because of the TV performance at this year’s Bundesvision Song Contest. “Last year’s winning was a great thing for us and we would have loved to already present our new album at Stefan Raab’s show, but as we place much value on the production it would have meant a loss of quality and that wasn’t acceptable for us.” Crap points out.

Radiopilot
Another Indie band that wants to change the world for the better you think. But RADIOPILOT is different. RADIOPILOT is pop. RADIOPILOT, this is five polarising, Berlin based cliché breakers. “We’re writing songs, because we’re confused, angry, disappointed, left behind. Because life takes unexpected paths you just can’t foresee. If we wouldn’t write song, we’d probably ended up on the streets like all the others and still would beat up people today, because we’re angry, disappointed and left behind. Everyone needs an outlet and that’s ours.” says singer, guitarist and songwriter Lukas Pizon about himself and his band and caused a discussion in the scene.

Bullet for my Valentine, Lacuna Coil, Bleeding Through, Black Tide
They excite old Heavy Metal fans as well as a young, growing generation of listeners of hard music. The Welsh four-piece BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE is unstoppable since the release of their debut ‘The Poison’ in 2005. Over 1 Mio sold copies, world tours with big names like METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN and GUNS’N’ROSES as well as various awards prove the success of the Welshmen The British ‘Q’ even speaks of “The best British Metal band since decades.” Since the release of their second album ‘Scream Aim Fire’ in January, the band is on world tour which will also lead them to Düsseldorf, Munich, Wiesbaden and Berlin between 21st and 29th November 2008. Extraordinary Metal music from England rather carves out a niche existence for many years. Since Britpop and the still up to date wave of Nu Wave bands, most young British musicians to the Indie, rather than to the sounds of slicing guitars and brutal double-bass drum gallops.
