Andrew Stockdale, who was working as a fashion photographer in Sydney when the album was released in 2006, founded the band with bassist Chris Ross and drummer Myles Heskett in 2000. After having some jam sessions in their own studio, they earned a little money and some free drinks by playing in abandoned factory buildings and small pubs. Shortly after that they recorded their first demo cd, called ‘Velvet Sound Demo’. Parts of it are now to be found on the upcoming re-release.

The German Metal-Lady JEN MAJURA (EQUIBLIBRIUM, KNORKATOR) is confirmed as new guitar player of the US-based rock/metal band EVANESCENCE. Singer and mastermind of EVANESCENCE, Amy Lee, commented:

Norwegian Blackjazz band Shining have disclosed that ‘International Blackjazz Society’ will be the title of their upcoming full-length album, due out on October 16th. ‘International Blackjazz Society’ is the band’s first release through Spinefarm Records, with whom they have signed a worldwide deal. Just as Venom created ‘Black Metal’ in the early ’80s, so Shining can proudly put their name to ‘Blackjazz’ – also the title of their 2010 album, a Top 10 record in Norway. Following ‘Blackjazz’ came the excellent ‘One One One’ (2013), and now it’s time for studio album number seven; as with ‘Blackjazz’ & ‘One One One’, ‘International Blackjazz Society’ has been mixed by Sean Beavan (Depeche Mode, A Perfect Circle, Slayer etc.), and mastered in Los Angeles by Tom Baker (Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Beastie Boys etc.).

The charismatic singer is notorious for the black eyeliner, red lips and dark clothes as well as his big gestures when performing and his recognizable vocals.

The British Alternative-/ Dark Rock band was founded in 1998 by former ANATHEMA member Duncan Patterson and Mick Moss. The band calls itself “the saddest band in the world”. After the release of the third album in 2005 Duncan left the band but Mick decided to continue the project. The following album ‘Leaving Eden‘ produced by Mick alone was critically acclaimed and elected as album of the month by the music magazines Zillo and Metal Shock.
