MVD Visual is pleased to announce the release of "I Need That Record! The Death (or Possible Survival) of the Independent Record Store" for North American distribution on April 17 (Record Store Day). It will be offered exclusively to independent record stores for a period of 90 days. Afterwards, it will be available everywhere on July 27. Guerilla film-maker Brendan Toller presents a documentary feature examining why over 3000 independent record stores have closed across the U.S. in the past decade. Greedy record labels, media consolidation, homogenized radio, big box stores, Ecommerce, shoddy "stars" pushed by big money, and the digital revolution all pose threats on the very well being of our favourite record stores and the music industry at large. It's absolutely mad what's currently going on with UNHEILIG. The new album 'Große Freiheit' has re-conquered the top position of the album charts. The current single 'Geboren um zu Leben' currently resides on #4 in the single charts and on #28 in the airplay charts. The next single 'Für Immer' will be released on 21st May with a studio and live version of the song. A video clip, directed by Marc Helfers is planned and will be shot on 23rd April. Delivering a double deadly dose of Thrash on the main stage will be EVILE and Earache label mates BONDED BY BLOOD. Both bands will be proudly flying the flag for true Thrash Metal, each with their own distinct but purist take on the genre, with sets that are bound to result in a few sore necks come the end of the weekend.
