WOD Festival 2011: Qntal, Persephone, The Violet Tribe
WOD concert and promotion agency is now around since 1997 and since its inception always has been a guarantor for quality in whatever field and with whatever band they decided to work. Doing an own festival shouldn’t be one of it for the time being. But this time has come now and 2011 will see the first WOD Festival taking place in Bielefeld. For your pleasure, a line-up of top artists has been assembled with QNTAL headlining the festival, delivering their unique blend of medieval instruments on top of electronics.

Helloween, Stratovarius
HELLOWEEN’s history started way back in 1984. The band made their breakthrough with the release of ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys Pt.1’ in 1987 that sold incredibly back in the day. Part 2 of the series went on to become even more successful than its predecessor. But a career never is defined by happy times only and a crisis broke upon HELLOWEEN as well at some point. Some bands are broken by that; others rise from the ashes again and HELLOWEEN managed to do the latter; started anew and got as successful as ever before. 2010 has seen them returning with a new album ‘7 Sinners’, in support of which they’re going to tour Germany and also stop in Oberhausen & Osnabrück. In tow of them will be Finnish Power Metal outfit STRATOVARIUS as a proper support.

Chameleons Vox, Luxury Stranger
History starts with THE CHAMELEONS getting formed in 1981. They’re standing in line with bands such as JOY DIVISION or ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN, however never even getting close to the mentioned band’s successes. Nevertheless, their first album ‘Script Of The Bridge’ is considered one of the most important records in Post-Punk today, and also the following little list of albums found not a little list of appreciators today. Due to death of manager and friend Tony Fletcher, the band disbanded in 1987. A reunion took place but never reached the class of early times again.

Schiller
Borders don’t seem to have any meaning within the sonic dimension SCHILLER is operating in. The project was formed by Christopher van Deylen a little eternity ago with his companion Mirko von Schlieffen, who left the project already in its early days, that is, after the second album ‘Zeitgeist’ was released. If you’ve come to think now that meant the end for everything you were proven wrong for van Deylen had enough ideas himself to push the project into spheres never imagined before.
