In the fall, CLAWFINGER go on “Deafer Dumber Blinder” tour and play the entire album and selected hits from their career during the ten shows. After a few years of silence around CLAWFINGER, the Scandinavians are back with a real highlight: “We had a coffee break for a while, and pow, it’s been 25 years since our debut album, ‘Deaf Dumb Blind’”, singer Zakk tells in his usual humorous way. “If that’s not a reason to celebrate, then I do not know. So we decided to play it in full length in some clubs in cities that we always liked. So, if you want to see some men in their prime with an album they wrote when they were young, come along. Our party is your party and without you it is not possible anyway.”
With their first new song material for more than ten years, CLAWFINGER already returned musically last year with ‘Save Our Souls’. Once again, the band verbally hits the mark: “The song is about how Trumpism transforms the world into a cesspool of heartless piss,”is the clear statement of the musicians. They have clear words against the neo-nationalist outgrowth of US President Donald Trump. And by the way of USA: Fitting to the “Deafer Dumber Blinder” tour, with ‘Get It’ appears a single release including a video clip. The song was the first which was released exclusively in the US as a single to ‘Deaf Dumb Blind’ at that time, because there they did not dare to approach the European single ‘Nigger’.
If you look at the current events in this world and what ‘Deaf Dumb Blind’ stands for, this year’s tour motto “Deafer Dumber Blinder” is certainly not an understatement.
