Billy Gibbons & The BFGs - “The Big One Part 1”
ZZ TOP’s Billy Gibbons is coming to Germany. The guitar guru celebrates his Blues and Rock party in Leipzig. Billy F Gibbons announced the “revival” of THE BFGS, his livewire solo band, set to perform in Leipzig in summer 2023. The trio, led by Billy F Gibbons on guitar and vocals, drummer Matt Sorum (THE CULT, GUNS’N’ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) and left-handed guitarist Mr. Austin Hanks who provides the ensemble’s heavy bass and rhythm.
Gibbons, who has fronted ZZ TOP for more than half a century, has released three solo albums in the last few years which have not only been successful but also received critical acclaim. These are the Afro-Cuban-tinged ‘Perfectamundo’ released in 2015, the Blues-rooted ‘The Big Bad Blues’ from 2018 and the acclaimed album ‘Hardware’ from 2021. Tracks from all albums will now be enjoyed live. Billy F Gibbons says: “The recent run with ZZ was a grand time and we thought to take the energy with our alter ego to ‘get down’ all the way around. That’s THIS tour...! We’re really cooking and looking to bring the BFG experience forward to all our friends in Europe and the UK. See you soon!”
