Balcanium, I Can't Swim, Crack O Dawn, Kultasiipi

The days are getting longer, the sundown comes later and that works also for the weekends. So, use the time and join the Metal concert BERLIN MOSHPIT on Friday, 19th of March at the K17. Your ears will listen to, your eyes will look at and your feet will dance to.

Balcanium

BALCANIUM is a band from Fürstenwalde (Germany) and their music is a mix of Metal, Hardcore & Death Metal. The band members are Dennis Orphal (drums), Luis Mertineit (vocals), Steffen Henschke (bass), Jerome Beyer (guitar, bacround vocals) and Sebastian Gohlke (guitar). They are without a label at the moment, but maybe they will meet some interesting people on the BERLIN MOSHPIT!? To get a little foretaste you can visit BALCANIUM on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/balcanium

I Can’t Swim

Also a band without a label, but young, fresh and with much potential: http://www.myspace.com/icantswimband

Crack O Dawn

CRACK O DAWN from Berlin was formed in 2007. The band members are Zoltán (vocals), Halid (bass), Ricky (guitar) and Schulle (drums). All of them have already made their way in different rock bands and gained a huge load of musical experience, fusing all the different styles and impressions. Initial for them to start something new was a venue they played at with SLIPKNOT in Switzerland and after the show met them backstage. Witnessing the amount of energy that a group can unleash inspired them and culminated into this. The style of CRACK O DAWN could be described as a mania and anger blend that results in metal. Join them unconditional live at K17 and look up their MySpace site: http://www.myspace.com/crackodawn1

Kultasiipi

KULTASiiPI creates Folk Metal and Rock using elements from ancient Finnish songs as well as of different Metal styles. The songs are depressive and slow, powerful and epic or fast and merry, spiced with Humppaa, medieval melodies or even Black Metal elements. They were founded by Finna Björnsdottir & Svana Shadowsbane in June 2006. The inspiration to this was their party-series Scandimania and their addiction to Scandinavian Folk Metal. As shown on the album ‘Hartes LandÄ they loved the Finnish accent in the German lyrics. KULTASiiPI uses ancient Finnish lyrics and melodies. Most lyrics are taken from Kalevala or Kanteletar. While the Kalevala is the Finnish national epic, Kanteletar is a collection of old Finnish folk poems. Both have been compiled and published by Elias Lönnrot in the 19th century. Of course, Finnish lyrics deserve to be transported in Finnish language - that is why there are no English or German lyrics in KULTASiiPIs music. Nobody in KULTASiiPI actually is from Finland or can speak Finnish really - but who cares? The bands name means a rare orange butterfly living in Finnish as well as in German woods. KULTASiiPI’s line-up is completed since October 2008 and consists of Finna (bass & background vocals), Svana (flute & kantele), Steff (drums), Olut Tynnyri (guitars), Physaris (guitars) and Tillman (vocals).
