With their sixth full-length record, Norwegian Black/ Folk Metal band KAMPFAR put forward a very strong fusion of groove, more or less traditional melodies and a touch of Black ‘n’ Roll. On the eight songs, a good variation between faster songs like the openers ‘Mylder’ and ‘Kujon’ may be heard as well as slower, more epic approaches like ‘Swarm Norvegicus’. ‘Djevelmakt’ finishes off with the epic yet very strong and powerful hymn ‘Our Hounds, Our Legions’ and thus concludes a very conclusive and entertaining album.
Conclusion: High quality Black/Folk Metal with a good mixture of harshness, groove and melodies.
