MACBETH has been known as LAND OF DARK SOULS and the change of the band title is indeed an improvement. Formed in '95 by Fabrizio Cislaghi the band uses the female/ male contrast on the background of Gothic Metal. There are other elements woven into it, their new album 'Neo-Gothic Propaganda' is a good example of that. The male vocals range from clean to near-but not quite Death Metal growling that give it an edge at the moments where angst needs to be underlined quite well. Songs are catchy and interesting, their diverse approach pays as the songs don't stray into Goth Metal clichés - especially in the first half of the album, the second loses momentum but not enough to spoil the whole impression.
Conclusion: Balanced and truly good album.
