Indianapolis Doomsters VOID KING were formed in 2014, the four-piece sold their debut, ‘There is Nothing’, on Tape 2016 and played the whole album on end for the record release which I think is a fucking brilliant way to introduce yourself to everyone that did not own or know the demo ‘ZEP TEPI’ from 2015. Not much about these guys can be found online but they play a mixture of Stoner and Doom with a Rock and Roll attitude. Heavy at all times but at times, a bit faster than the average doom band, VOID KING play a strange but appealing kind of music. Vocalist Jason Kindred has an interesting voice that in one moment sounds like Glenn Danzig and reminds of Mina Caputo in the next moment, surprising but compelling at the same time. Most of the material is indeed slow paced heavy and sinister sounding like it should.
Conclusion: If you like your music heavy as fuck and like to feel as if sun won’t ever shine any more you might dig this hard.
