Review Flash

Lately I reviewed COLOSSUS which have been rechristened MEGA COLOSSUS before the release of ‘Hyperglaive’. If you read the review you should by now know that I really dig this band, IRON MAIDEN meets the complexity of some RUSH parts, mid-paced fun for the whole Metal family. Listening to these guys you get the feeling they get even better and more complex with every record they release, they played in Germany this year and I am a bit sad I did not get to see them perform live this time. The opener ‘Sun Sword’ just kicks into gear and seconds after you started the album you find yourself raising your fist and bang your head only to stop here and there in astonishment as you try to comprehend the galloping and fierce guitar solos of Fisher and Cline. Sean Buchanan not only participates in the high melodic arrangements, he steers the ship with his strangely beautiful vocals. All this is carried by the mighty drums and bass by Doza and Eshelman. These guys just ought to be given a chance by every head-banger out there.

Conclusion: If you dig straight forward metal with proggy arrangements on guitar and great vocals just check am out now and thank me later.
