Review Flash

Some countries burst due the sheer number of heavy bands, Malta never seemed to be one of those countries but ASCENDOR alone have enough aggression and power to try and leave a big footprint. ASCENDOR is active since 2011, this year started with a Saturday and a terrorist bomb attack in Alexandria which killed 23 people (a brutal year indeed but the forming of this nice Thrash Metal outfit was one of the few good things). ‘Circle of Violence’ is the bands fourth full-length and it is a rather brutal approach to Thrash Metal, when it comes to playing rough and tough these guys almost sound like KREATOR at some moments and SLAYER in the next. All in all, I think this is so raw and brutal that it actually borders on Death Metal, I would have loved for the guys to take a foot off the gas pedal for a while to show me their skills instead of trying to kill me with riffs. For a good violent evening this is awesome but this definitely lacks catchiness and melody.

Conclusion: If you like it brutal, this will float your boat
