Alberta, Canada Based Thrash Metal outfit TYMO (named after guitar player and vocalist Tim Tymo) have been around since 2014. “The Art Of A Maniac” is the bands third full-length offering to hungry Thrash Metal fan-base. The EPK, once again, offers a few titbits of information and opinions as to what the band sounds like (the comparison to either METALLICA or IRON MAIDEN are bullshit). In my honest opinion the band’s sound gritty as fuck, aggressive and fast like a musical apex predator. The riffs offered by Nick Schwartz and Tim Tymo are hammering away at the listener, the bass is audible and sometimes even used in nifty patterns played in the right places (shout-out to bass-man Harlen Jacobs). Marc Durie on drums has his hands full keeping up with the Riffgeddon but manages to hold his own while adding pressure to the overall sound. There are bits and pieces that remind me of bands like OVERKILL (gritty, sharp vocals). Full Support for these guys.
