Alphaville
ALPHAVILLE are known by early and worldwide successes with songs like ‘Big in Japan’ and most notably ‘Forever Young’. That, however, was just the tip of the iceberg of what the project was able to achieve. They were destined to push their own boundaries after the success was subsiding a bit. At least for a few people that is much more important than riding on a wave of commercial success forever! So it came to pass that with ‘The Breathtaking Blue’ from 1989 the stylistic repertoire was expanded with currents of Blues, Classical music or Jazz, an evolution that continued with the release of the follow-up ‘Prostitute’ in 1994. Following their ‘Salvation’ it got awfully quiet around them, but suddenly in 2010, ALPHAVILLE were back with a band and the new album ‘Catching Rays On Giant’.

Alphaville
Tuesday it was finally time to see ALPHAVILLE back on stage! After all the years I was already very curious how the band would sound like now… In 1981, the German Synth-Pop band was founded by Marian Gold and Bernhard Lloyd as an artist's group under the name NELSON COMMUNITY. Then in 1983, the band was renamed after the film of the same name by Jean-Luc Godard into ALPHAVILLE.

There have been good things and there have been bad things. But once in a while you come across an extraordinary milestone. Our path let us to Münster this evening where TINA DICO and HELGI JONSSON were ready to play a little show for us and the audience.

Saturday the way led us to the Zenith in Munich to see the band INTERPOL. Actually, they should appear in the Kesselhaus, but because so many tickets have been sold before, the event was moved.

Magnum, Gwyn Ashton
British MAGNUM were in town again and as expected the crowd waiting in front of the venue to get in more or less were in their 40 at the average. I started to think that would become a cosy little concert with a not too packed tube. Turns out I was wrong.
