Burg Trausnitz, Landshut, Germany
4th September 2011
In Extremo, Fiddler’s Green, Kellner
On this sunny Sunday, once more a quite special event took place: In Extremo organized a castle tour and came in its course also to the Burg Trausnitz in Landshut for a concert …
Kellner
KELLNER is the band around the young singer and songwriter Mathias Kellner from Regensburg. He made a virtue (out) of his necessity and founded the band as an I-AG to escape an existence as an unemployed person. In 2009, the band published its first album ‘This Ocean Life’ and this year in spring already the third work ‘The Road Sessions' appeared. The band, whose music is a mixture of folk, blues and Indie-pop, already disposes of some live experience because they have already accompanied some artists as for example Claudia Koreck on their tour in the last time. www.kellner-music.de
Music & Performance
Shortly after 5:00 PM, Mathias Kellner together with guitarist Florian Sprenger, bassist Johannes Molz and drummer Andy Schechinger appeared on stage. KELLNER spontaneously stepped in for the Bavarian band HASSLIEBE which, unfortunately, had to call off the coming concerts because of illness reasons. The band was convincing with an appearance that reached from sometimes more sounding like rock and then again softer songs. However, at this time the already present audience could not be persuaded completely. This was probably also due to the fact that the band did not fit stylistically and optically completely to the other both bands of the evening. Still they left the stage after a brief hour under adequate applause.

Fiddler’s Green
The German Folk Rock band FIDDLER'S GREEN already exists for more than 20 years. The band itself calls their genre Irish Independent Speedfolk and plays except own compositions also Irish polkas and Traditionals. Already in 2004 they celebrated their already 1,000th concert from which there were made DVDs and a live CD. Their current studio album 'Sports Day At Killaloe' appeared in 2009. Then in 2010 followed the live album and the DVD called 'Folk's Not Dead'. www.fiddlers.de
Music & Performance
After a short rebuilding break the stage belonged to singer Ralf 'Albi' Albers, guitarist Pat Prziwara, Violinist Tobias Heindl, Stefan Klug (accordion), bassist Rainer Schulz and drummer Frank Jooss of FIDDLER'S GREEN. In the meantime, an absolutely considerable audience - which was from beginning carried away from the Irish seeming sounds - has appeared on the meadow of the Burg Trausnitz. The mood reached a climax for the first time and it was clapped hardly with the older as well as newer songs of the band. The evening could have gone on like this still a whole while, but one more band waited for its appearance…

In Extremo
IN EXTREMO is a German Middle Ages Rock band founded already in 1995. Originally there was a Middle Ages band plus a rock band which was folded up on the number of rising visitors, under pressure of the record label at that time and on account of own interests. Aim was to connect the sound of ancient instruments with modern instruments, as for example E-guitar and percussion. The attempt succeeded: The band already played with many guest-singers and was nominated for some prices. With 'Sterneneisen‘ the band already published 2011 their second album after 'Sängerkrieg' which reached the first place in to the German charts. www.inextremo.de
Music & Performance
When it had already been getting dark, shortly after 8:00 PM, it was time and IN EXTREMO consisting of singer 'Das Letzte Einhorn‘, guitarist Van Lange, Die Lutter (kettledrum), Dr. Pymonte (harp), Flex Der Biegsame (hurdy-gurdy, market bag whistle), Yellow Pfeiffer (Schalmei) and drummer Specki T.D entered the stage. On time with their appearance it started to rain what did not affect the fires how at the beginning, which was really worth seeing. The eager spectators resisted the rain and sang, clapped and danced together. From new songs like 'Sterneneisen' and 'Stalker' up to old songs like 'Herr Mannelig‘, anything was presented and therefore for every taste the set included something. Singer Michael Robert Rhein (Das Letzte Einhorn) was obviously in a good mood and entertained the audience between the songs with short stories. After some additions the evening ended under blustering applause…

IN EXTREMO’s castle tour 2011 was an exceedingly successful event which might remain still for a long time positively in the visitors’ memories
