Diary of Dreams - Open Air 2021
After DIARY OF DREAMS had already played two full open air shows at the Parkbühne Leipzig last year in accordance with Corona-regulations, they returned to the Clara-Zetkin-Park in 2021 to play another sold-out concert. In addition to their current album ‘hell in Eden’, the men around front man Adrian Hates also brought a pot full of songs from over 25 years of band history. It has now been around 500 concerts in almost 40 countries since the first note from the “Diary of Dreams” sounded, and there is no end in sight. Everyone who knows this band knows about their achievements, created by none other than Adrian Hates - founder, singer and centre of the band, calling himself a creative pessimist. We owe this epic, dark, graceful, dramatic, fragile and extremely detailed music to his dark side and his creative handling of it. DIARY OF DREAMS currently is Adrian Hates, Dejan Nikolic, Hilger Tintel and Felix Wunderer.

Michael Monroe with Sami Yaffa & Linde Lindström
When I entered Allas Sea Pool to attend the MICHAEL MONROE show in their yard, I realized that his show at TBA Suvilathi in August 2020 had been my last outdoor show last year. On Friday SAMI YAFFA had released his first solo single ‘The Last Time’ from the new and coming album and it turned out to be a good song to get ready for a promising summer season.

Lisa Morgenstern @ KunstFestSpiele
When concert venues closed in Germany back in March 2020 only few people expected that the shutdown would last for such a long time. However, things develop into the right direction and after months without any concerts and festival there is an opportunity to attend gigs here and there.

West Coast Gothic Blackpool with Auger & Support: Novus UK, Still Forever, Stella Wembley
AUGER is a band that is a must see - they have been on the scene for only a relatively short time but have gathered momentum quickly. A great array of talent from the boys has helped achieve this. NOVUS UK have been around for much longer, and it’s good to see them supporting AUGER - there is a family connection Sarahjane Farr is the mother to Kyle J Wilson (lead singer of AUGER). A talented family indeed. STILL FOREVER is a new band to me, or perhaps I should say a new artist as Amelia Griffiths is the sole member. STELLA WEMBLEY is again new to me, and she also plays alone. This was the first gig I had been to after the Covid lockdowns. It was a ticket only, social distanced, completely seated event.

Because Music Matters: The Energy - Fusion Bomb
Almost 100 spectators attended one of five test concerts at the Rockhal on Saturday evening. It was thus one of the first indoor shows in almost a year. I visited the Rockhal on the day of “Energy” and was looking forward to the local Thrash-Metal band FUSION BOMB.
