2020 is a truly challenging year, for everyone in its own way. The whole event sector has been hit particularly hard. And of course I’m not thinking “only” artists here. I think event organisers, promoters, sound and light technicians, stage hands, and, and, and… True, the pandemic is a very real threat and the cancellation of all “normal” concerts and festivals felt simply necessary and imperative to me. Yet, as a “concert junkie” like me, it hurts seeing all those cancellations. And it hurts even more understanding just how many people, who usually earn their money with realising what always has been so essential to me, are now at risk of bankruptcy. But then again, there are some people who really gave me hope because they tried to find other ways. Making live music possible while still keeping the risk of the virus spreading low.

Diary of Dreams - Open Air 2020
Melancholy on its constant search for harmony - Introducing a band like DIARY OF DREAMS to write a live review seems to me to be rather unnecessary after more than 25 successful years in the music business and the associated excellent reputation in the dark scene; everyone who knows this band knows about their achievements, created by none other than Adrian Hates - founder, singer and mastermind of the band, calling himself a creative pessimist.

Emil Bulls - Hully Gully Bierzelt Shows 2020
EMIL BULLS are local heroes in Munich. The band was founded 25 years ago and due to many influences on their style, it’s difficult to put them in just one category. If you dig their back catalogue you will find Rock, influences of Pop that remind you of Sade, some Stoner Rock and Thrash, so Crossover or Alternative Rock and Metal may be the genres that come closest to their style. http://www.emilbulls.de

An unusual tiny and intimate gig, by private invite only - a very special evening. Covid-19 has more or less put the music industry live playing scene on hold in most countries, so gigs at the moment are a real treat. It is made even more special as the band have invited us into a unique insight into their own world - their new rehearsal rooms.

Behemoth - In Absentia Dei
Poland’s Extreme Metal band number one, BEHEMOTH, have returned to us. Not, like many of her colleagues, with new music or a new album, but with a livestream. This event took place on September 5th and was called “In Absentia Dei” (In the absence of God) and was recorded in Poland from a church whose location was kept secret.
