Slimelight 34th Birthday Bash with Nachtmahr, Reaper, Black Light Ascension, My Hysteria
Slimelight, how time flies - thirty-four years? I am officially very old indeed. For me my history with this legendary club night started nearly three decades ago. Over that time, it’s been a safe haven for not only me, but every other dark alternative black clad weirdo in the UK.

Covenant, Torul & Black Nail Cabaret
The expectations were high at this cold autumn evening in Potsdam. Although the concert was not sold out (I would guess less than half of the location was full, although I do not know if would have even been allowed to fill the hall completely due to Covid-19), and masks had to be worn, people were at first in a good mood. The audience was mostly middle-aged at, at least visually, part of the dark subculture. For sure, many of them had known COVENANT since their first steps in the Gothic culture.

The 69 Eyes
THE 69 EYES started in 1989 as a Sleaze band in Helsinki and over the years developed their very own style the Goth’n’Roll. The band is also known as “The Helsinki Vampires” among their fans and came over to Germany for the first time in 1998. Things kicked off during the early 2000s when they went on tour with PARADISE LOST and won over more and more fans. THE 69 EYES constantly toured during all these years not only in Europe but also in Australia, Japan, Russia in the USA establishing a big and very dedicated fan base. Celebrating the band’s 30th anniversary in 2019 they released their new album ‘West End’ and went on a mostly sold out tour in Europe and the USA. www.69eyes.com / www.facebook.com/the69eyes

Konzertsommer im Revier: Diorama & Zoodrake
It’s been a while since I travelled that far for a concert - and usually when it happened it was from Germany to Norway. Now it was the other way round: Oslo - Hamburg - Gelsenkirchen. A very special weekend trip and so deeply missed. The last show of the season 2021 at Circus Probst was about to happen. DIORAMA finally were able to present their latest album ‘Tiny Missing Fragments’ live after the previously planned show in November 2020 couldn’t happen due to Germany getting into the second lockdown just a few days before. The atmosphere before the show was so warm and great. So lovely to meet so many known faces and to have a nice chat with so many, just sharing the anticipation as we’ve all been waiting for at least 799 days for another DIORAMA live show to happen.
