Front 242 - “BLACK OUT: The Final Shows” - Support: Rein
As you already know, FRONT 242 have announced an extensive concert tour for this year! The tour motto is “BLACK OUT: The Final Shows”. This brings us and surely you too, on the one hand, great anticipation to be able to experience the band live again, on the other hand, we are very sad. The year 2024 is the band’s last concert year. A great era comes to an end and the pioneers of EBM bid farewell to you with dignity. One of the biggest venues of the tour was the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, where FRONT 242 and support REIN played last Saturday.

Camouflage - “Rewind To The Future And Goodbye Tour - 40 Years Of Camouflage” - Special Guest: DJ AIO
It’s the evening of 11th November 1987. The writer of this review is a delicate 11 years old and sits with her family in front of the television. Fortunately, the 500-meter restricted zone in which we live is located in southern Thuringia of the German Democratic Republic and not in the proverbial “Valley of the Clueless”. We are only allowed to enter our hometown after an ID check by the border soldiers who guard the barrier at the entrance to the village. If friends or family want to visit us, they need a permit. But hey, we are able to watch “West TV”! So, here we are sitting in front of the TV, watching the “ZDF Hit Parade”.

Within Temptation - “Bleed Out Tour 2024” - Support: Annisokay
The Dutch band WITHIN TEMPTATION visited Germany in the course of their “Bleed Out Tour” and made a stop at the Palladium in Cologne. The co-founders of Symphonic Rock, led by singer Sharon den Adel, performed many songs from their 2023 album of the same name on their tour 2024. BLIND8 and ANNISOKAY were announced as support acts, but unfortunately the Ukrainians from BLIND8 were unable to perform that night, so ANNISOKAY took over the first gig.

Apocalyptica - “Plays Metallica Vol. 2 Tour 2024/2025” - Support: The Raven Age
When the founding members of APOCALYPTICA (Eicca Toppinen, Paavo Lötjönen, Max Lilja and Antero Manninen) met at the Finnish Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in the 90s and decided to play tracks by their favourite band METALLICA on the classical music instrument cello and also to use four pieces from METALLICA’s repertoire as an exam at the academy, the young Finns certainly didn’t think that this flash of inspiration would still stand them in good stead 28 years later. But in 2024, the follow-up to the band’s debut album was finally released. The album bears the obvious name “Plays Metallica Vol. 2” and forms the backbone of the current tour, on which the band is focusing exclusively on the US metal band’s material.
