Album Review
German electronic project DIGITAL FACTOR has released a new full-length album entitled ‘Trialog’ marking the band’s third creative period. The record starts with rather strange ‘Prelude’ and the strangeness is that the track doesn’t charm one’s ear so there’s always a possibility that a listener will decide to put the album aside directly after the opening. The further composition is made in the same key and repeats the prelude at the beginning. Obviously such songs are meant for those who understand such style, the music part particularly so. All those rhythms, beats, sound of nondescript origin are definitely not favourable for meditation or aesthetic enjoyment. The same could be said about the vocals: lovers of the genre will find such singing quite good and expressive. Others may find the whole album somewhat plain and incomprehensible. Actually I belong to the latter yet I managed to find among the variety of the tracks something interesting even for myself, in particular all three ‘Interludes’, ‘You’re Going Down’ and ‘The Way You Lie’. The songs please with their diversity and have the potential to become dance floor hits. However it’s really impossible to listen to them at home but I guess fans of the band enjoy the music anytime anywhere.
