Album Review
The debut album of German electronic project EYCRONOM entitled ‘Awake from the Sleepers’ arouses mixed feelings. On one hand the sound is quite interesting and may be called original; the voice finely supplements the music and in whole the combination produces a fairly good impression taking into consideration that it’s still the debut work. On the other hand the melody if only this term could be used here, seems too poor yet I can’t say that the monotony prevails because abrupt changes happen reminding of a roller coaster. The opening piece starts with ticking of a clock or so which intensifies and turns into regular beats so the music really has the potential to wake up almost anyone at the beginning. Then the repeated sounds of the tracks are slowly lulling until the melody takes another round and unexpectedly attacks your ears with different sonic power. Anyway listening won’t be boring. Moreover I managed to find a couple of tracks that I like, namely ‘Right Behind You’ and ‘SSDÄ. The rest of the material is good enough and the band will definitely get new fans among lover of electronic music.
