INDUSTRIEGEBIET on their second album are more mature and determined to offer some good tracks of danceable music and have some fun with all the dark stuff of the Industrial scene as well. The band stays close to bands such as NOISUF-X and DIOXYDE which means that the at times groovy synths dominate and the upbeat bass line gives the tone of the cyber friendly tracks that never render to sterility and pointless repetition, much to the praise of Massimo’s efforts on this album. Even when he indulges with a more Dark Electro, like in ‘Gott Hat Urlaub’, he knows how to build the atmosphere and though the particular song might not be fit for a typical club experience, nonetheless has something harrowing.
In ‘Are You Ready (To Rock)’ somehow Massimo fails, in that despite its 5 minute length you have the feeling that the song has just begun. The other failure is in KRAFTWERK’s cover of ‘Die Roboter’. The minimal synths and the subtlety of the original song were annihilated to something that resembles an electronic chatting, if I may put it that way, to a big pointless platitude. Though, apart from these two songs, and in the area where is the true force of INDUSTRIEGEBET lies, the dance-floors, ‘Ein Traum Der Nie Zu Ende Geht’, ‘ Wer Schön Sein Will Muss Sterben’ and ‘Schwarz Statt Braun’ among others are guaranteed to send you dancing. This CD has tremendous fun, and I do mean that in a good way.
