Saviour Machine
Founded in 1989, SAVIOUR MACHINE had three of their rare European performances with the following musicians Eric Clayton: Vocals, Jeff Clayton: Guitars, Charles Cooper: Bass Guitar, Nathan Van Hala: Piano / Keyboards and Samuel West: Drums / Percussion this year. Heilbronn on September 8th was the last of these three. http://www.saviourmachine.com / https://www.facebook.com/saviourmachineofficial / http://www.theater-heilbronn.de
Music & Performance
It was an exceptional event location at the "Komödienhaus" theatre in Heilbronn. And it was more than suitable for this "unmasked" and unplugged evening. SAVIOUR MACHINE presented far over 3 hours of their music from all their official album releases - and more! It was much more an opera-like performance than anything else I have seen before. The stage was prepared with a background of candles giving an atmosphere fitting perfectly to the unplugged set of instruments and musicians.
The light was discreet but effective. In combination with the epic music showing all ranges of SAVIOUR MACHINE from calm to forlorn to beatifically there was nothing all fitted together just wonderful. Even though Eric Clayton obviously had some health problems that evening, he admirably fought these… and not only had he won this fight, he moreover shared his time for quite a while with the fans in the lobby of the theatre after the show long after midnight. All five musicians made this evening a classical, modern, gothic event showing all facets of their Christian church influenced songs.
