Album Review

What is a theory? The dictionary describes it to indentify a set of observations as a class of phenomena and makes the assertions about the underlying reality that brings about and affects this particular class. In shorter terms it’s a way of predicting the future or an explanation of what is about to unfold. Like for instance Canada, whose terrain is well known and has pushed forward a variety of well known musical talents. Such as THEORY OF A DEADMAN whose blast from the past ‘Gasoline’ (2005) tends to fill in with their newest creation ‘Scars & Souvenirs’.

Displaying a band that has turned their craft clearly slowing piecing together each song as careful as possible. The driving motivates single ‘So Happy’ kick-starts the entire album feel right off the beat. Showcasing what ‘Scars & Souvenirs’ is truly all about taking you through the album which brings up some catchy upbeat lyrics to sing right along too and then grasps a hold of you with lead in guitar riffs with out-standing bass tactics. Some of the other tracks worth mentioning include ‘Not Meant to be’, ‘All or Nothing’, ‘Crutch’ and ‘Hate My Life’. Each of these selections being a compiled structure of soft rock that mixes together the heavier moments of the album from time to time. This being said, THEORY OF A DEADMAN presents itself as a worthy attention to the rock n roll market and their latest addition does the job and gets it done fast and easy.
