The B-52s & Klimmstein
On this more than uncomfortable Saturday we made our way to Munich where the cult band THE B52s was going to give the final concert of their German tour. Totally sops, we reached like most other fans the Muffathalle...

M’era Luna Festival Day 2: Schwarzer Engel, ASP & Kai Meyer reading, Unzucht, Coppelius, Eden Weint Im Grab, The 69 Eyes, In The Nursery, Tanzwut, Clan Of Xymox, Staubkind, [:SITD:], Apoptygma Berzerk, Kirlian Camera, Blutengel, Zeromancer, Front 242, Front Line Assembly, Nightwish
The second day came quickly after a short night and the day was greeting us with the best festival weather: not too sunny, temperatures around 25°C. Unfortunately, some rain made it to the airport but this surely didn’t darken the great mood on this Sunday. The day was promised to be filled with great bands, from electronic tunes up to heavier guitar sounds – there was something for everyone. The highlight was surely NIGHTWISH with new their new singer. Expectations were high and, at least spoken for myself, the people were satisfied.

System of a Down & Hawk Eyes
SYSTEM OF A DOWN gave their only headline concert 2013 at Wuhlheide Berlin. Marek Lieberberg Konzerte (MLK) obviously has a good connection to the band founded in 1995 and so, the agency could win the band for the new festival Rock’n’Heim and Rock im Pott as well as for that show in Berlin.

Filter & Soledown
It is nice to see that some amazing musicians made it to overcome their addictions, have their comeback and doing a great job even if they have to start in small clubs again instead of the big venues. Richard Patrick with his band FILTER is one of these bands. He and Brian Liesegang were both playing for NINE INCH NAILS in 1990 but left the band and founded FILTER in 1993. They released in 1995 their first album but then in 1997, Liesegang left the band and Richard decided to go on with the band on his own. He released further four albums and now this year the sixth one. With music from the genre Alternative Rock, Post- Grunge, Industrial Rock, Richard’s charismatic stage appearance and his recognizable voice FILTER is a band of the must have seen list.

M’era Luna Festival Day 1: Molllust, Rêverie, Lord of the Lost, Desdemona, Ost+Front, The Arch, End of Green, Eisenfunk, Mesh, Cultus Ferox, Saltatio Mortis, Diorama, The Crüxshadows, Haujobb, Mono Inc., Gothminister, Deine Lakaien (acoustic), Nachtmahr, ASP, The Klinik, HIM
This year’s M’era Luna Festival got everybody going even before it started. The line-up had something for everyone: rock sounds, electronic beats and even softer sounds. And with 25,000 people making their way to the airport in Hildesheim in order to enjoy some of it, the festival was announced as sold-out. The weather seemed promising and got some sunshine but not too high temperatures to the visitors and smoothed the way for the first day of the festival, including many great bands and special shows!
