2nd September 2009
Cynic, The Intersphere
The 2nd September 2009 should be a special evening for music lovers, as the American Death Metal band CYNIC had announced to come to the Colos-Saal. CYNIC was founded in 1987 by Paul Masvidal (vocals, guitar) and Sean Reinert (keys, drums). After several demo recordings, the band released its debut album `Focus´ in 1993. Due to this long-player´s incredible virtuosity and the breathtaking soundscape, CYNIC was on everyone´s lips and thrilled its fans as well as its critics. Unfortunately, the formation broke up one year later which made it acquire a cult status in the Metal scene. When CYNIC decided to reunite and to go on tour, the fans jumped for joy and couldn´t wait to buy the second full-length album `Traced in Air´ (2008) which was highly praised again. Additionally, the quartet from Florida had been the support act of OPETH last year. http://www.myspace.com/cyniconline / http://www.cyniconline.com/

Keith Caputo & Sun Sui
KEITH CAPUTO is most notable for being the distinct voice of New York-based rock outfit LIFE OF AGONY which he founded in 1989 together with his cousin. But after 3 albums with the band he departed from them in 1997 but re-united with his former colleagues and released a fourth album with them in 2005. In the meantime, the guy hasn’t been just hanging around doing nothing and built up a considerable solo career and by now has four albums under his belt. After I had seen him with LIFE OF AGONY a few weeks before I was really curious how his “solo” concert would turn out.

THE 69 EYES spent a couple of days in Stockholm, Sweden, to promote their new album ‘Back in Blood’. On Thursday they were part of the Swedish radio station Bandit’s party at the club Harry B James where they did an acoustic performance. On Friday, the new album was released in Sweden and in the morning the band did some interviews (I had the pleasure of doing an interesting interview with Bazie that are coming online soon!) and in the afternoon they were signing copies at Inkbash at the Münchenbryggeriet. Later on when day became night, the Helsinki vampires had a release party at the nightclub Rocks. For more information please visit http://www.69eyes.com/
