Rockhard Festival Day 1: Bullet, Crucified Barbara, Cataract, Heaven Shall Burn, Grave Digger, Hammerfall
Once upon a time I was asked to leave my home and march into the fields where scores of brothers and warriors would await me - to do some battle banging, moshing and drinking at this years annual Rock Hard Festival. “Wheezers, how jolly”, thought I, whilst my young and happy heart danced and pranced about gaily in my chest. Alas, memories of never ever having been fortunate enough to see At The Gates or Carcass live clouded my thoughts, yet the prospect of seeing this and that band was like a golden shower of sunrays doing some cloud busting.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), Lovers Electric
These were such great news when OMD were guests in the German TV-Show “The ultimate Chartshow - the most successful artists of the 80ies” in 2005. After this performance Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys said in an interview they are planning to work together again. There was it once again - wonders can always happen. In January 2006 there was written on their official homepage they want to produce a new album and want to go on tour in 2007 with the original members. Before that, they had already performances in different German cities during “Nokia’s Night of the Proms” in late 2006. There is still no new album out, but we had the opportunity to celebrate the old hits with OMD in Cologne. It seemed many fans were waiting for this moment, because they had to change the venue from the E-Werk to the bigger Palladium. Too many people wanted to see the guys again. OMD - Forever live and (never) die!

Roger Waters
On Holland's liberation day it's time for a lot of festivals all through the country. But some 33,000 fans come to see Roger Waters perform at the Gelredome again. Outside the venue masses gather in front of the McDrive that had been transformed into a McWalk people relax in the sun before they can enter the stadium of Arhem bases soccer team Vitesse. Those who had a ticket seem to be more fortunate than the crew of Reflections of Darkness however. Due to miscommunication between label and promotor it's impossible to stay after the first three songs. The show must go on...

Keith Caputo, Taxi to the Ocean
It's a Monday night and when approaching the venue it seems like it was the wrong day of the week to do a concert. But inside the venue the space quickly filled up with people. Eventhough it was just the small hall it was eventually a sold out concert and that's always good for an artist, especially when it really makes them happy. A mixed crowd of all ages and backgrounds had come to see an intimate show of the little man with a great voice.
