Life of Agony & Green Lizard
Since Life of Agony’s reunion in 2003 I was really looking forward to see them again. Ok, ok, I have seen them already at Graspop 2004, but in my eyes it’s something completely different to experience this band at a festival than in a smaller clubs. I really prefer easy to grab venues. The atmosphere is more private and relaxed.
And tonight was the night! Life of Agony hit the stage of a very nice location in Utrecht, called Tivoli. The guys from New York are always a guarantee for a very exciting and unforgettable evening. That’s a fact which was proven a couple of times in the past. But are they still the same? Or do I expect too much. Lets wait and see.

Apoptygma Berzerk and SONO
Apoptygma Berzerk and SONO – old school and new school electro together on tour. What a great combination; one that meant we had to see the show in Dortmund. Both bands just released new albums – APB are turning again into another direction with “You and me against the World” using more guitars than ever while SONO are moving further on the mainly electronic way with “Off”.

The Legion of Hetheria, Auracle
There are days that the Netherlands just don’t look like the Netherlands anymore. After a new national traffic jam record the previous day due to snow, two brave bands managed to transport themselves to the catacombs of the new Dynamo metal bar. Tonight the Mexican metal band The Legion of Hetheria did their last show in Europe, and it was their first time as official headliner. Supporting them was the same band they played with two weeks earlier in Veenendaal: Auracle. Unfortunately the bad weather conditions as well as bad forecasts kept the people away. With only some 30 people in the bar the atmosphere was good though.

Destruction, Candlemass, Grave, Dismember, Enslaved, Ensiferum, Mercenary, Callenish Circle
The second edition of the Arnhem Metal Meeting is a fact, with many bands on one day. Not the wellknown names from the X-mass festivals, but some more diversity. Enough reason for a real metalhead to travel to the east of the country. Altough it is not easy, because of the bad weather it is soon very crowed. For many people a good reason to meet old friends and have some fun together.

A-HA
Two days before the concert I received an email from Universal that I was granted a photo pass for the concert of the legendary Norwegian band A-HA. Arriving one and a half hour too early at the backstage entrance of Heineken Music Hall I was really looking forward to seeing and photographing my first A-HA concert.
