Since the release of their self-titled debut in 2003, BILLY TALENT have cemented themselves as a generation-defining rock band. They have sold nearly one million albums in Canada alone and nearly 3 million albums internationally. Their albums ‘Billy Talent I’ and ‘II’ and ‘III’ have all received multi-platinum certifications, with platinum status for the last studio album ‘Dead Silence’. Their latest album ‘Afraid of Heights’ debuted at #1 in their home country of Canada as well as in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. To end the year with a banger, the Finns from AMORPHIS joined Swiss band ELUVEITIE for a big co-headline show at the Rockhal. Also in the luggage were DARK TRANQUILLITY and NAILED TO OBSCURITY. The latter, however, played so early that it was unfortunately not possible for many spectators to see them from the beginning.

Wow, this concert evening at the sold-out Haus Auensee in Leipzig was a blast! The 4-band line up was an incredibly good one! I saw the first two openers ORBIT CULTURE and IMMINENCE the first time. If you have the chance to see one or both live, you should go to the concert. You won’t be disappointed. They are very good live bands.
