With the Easter Holidays only a couple of weeks away, we have some exciting Amphi news for you; we would like to share with you now. Each year we are trying to further improve the Amphi Festival for you, and in 2008 we already managed to do so with the new cocktail bars, the beach club as well as the improved restroom facilities. 2009 we got even better:
Official Amphi Festival Camping Grounds at 'Jugendpark Köln' confirmed!
In cooperation with “S.O.M.A. – Summer of Music Arts Festival” we present you for the first time in Cologne an official Amphi Festival Camping ground. Seated in the beautiful park of the youth of Cologne City this year you will be provided for the first time to set-up your camps within walking distance of the Amphi Festival area. You will not only find places for your tents there, but also a service building with restrooms and toilets as well as possibilities to buy food and beverages.
The camping ground will be available to you from Friday 17th July 2009 to Monday 20th July 2009 Further information about opening hours and how to get there will be featured in a couple of days on our homepage under http://www.amphi-festival.de/2009/camping.html. Tickets for the official Amphi Festival Camping ground will be available via the Amphi Ticketshop under https://ssl.webpack.de/synotec-newmedia.de/amphishop/welcome.html for the price of 18,00 € excl. pre-sale fees.
Important: Camping tickets are only per person for the official Camping ground in the 'Jugendpark Köln', Sachsenbergstraße, 51063 Cologne. The amount of tickets is limited!
New Indoor-Stage 2009: Rheinparkhalle
Because of the ever growing number of visitors and a more and more attractive program we received a lot of suggestions for the improvement of the situation in the 'Theater am Tanzbrunnen' and wish to thank you for your feedback! Everything running smoothly at our indoor stage is very important to us and that is why we are proud to announce another important improvement for the Amphi Festival 2009: To do the growing numbers of visitors justice we decided to expand the Amphi area to the neighbouring Rheinparkhalle.
Right next to the Tanzbrunnen and easily accessible from there the Rheinparkhalle supported the Amphi Festival already in 2008 with its restroom facilities. In 2009 the Rheinparkhalle will add itself to the Amphi Festival with its vast stages and rooms and opens a whole lot of new possibilities for a great indoor program. The Rheinparkhalle takes over the role of the theatre as second stage for live gigs and will add a lot to the exciting happening. The 'Theater am Tanzbrunnen' will, of course, stay an important part of the Amphi Festival. On both days chill out areas, movie and DVD presentations as well as other specials will be waiting for you there, before, in the evening, well-known Djs will fired up the dance floors during the aftershow parties.
New band confirmation: Festival closes with Camouflage
After 'Die Krupps' played at the end of the last year's festival and providing a great farewell, in 2009 there will again be a great finale performance. This time in the newly added Rheinparkhalle with no other than Camouflage! Being as solid as rock Markus Meyn, Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig withstood the test of time and are still the most important and successful music export of Germany worldwide. With their motto “The Pleasure Remains” this Synth-Pop legend will entertain you at the end of the Amphi Festival 2009 with an exciting program featuring their greatest hits. Dreamlike atmosphere, danceable hymns and hits like ‘The Great Commandment’ or ‘Love Is A Shield’ will provide a suitable festival finale you will remember for a long time.
