The fantasy adventure of MANOWAR and Wolfgang Hohlbein starts on 18th July 2009. MANOWAR and bestseller author Wolfgang Hohlbein announce the world premier of Asgard Saga. The saga will begin on 18th July 2009 on the Magic Circle Festival II at Freilichtbühne Loreley in St. Goarshausen.
The headliner of the festival MANOWAR will play tracks from the concept album whose completion is being worked on right now. Hohlbein’s stories about the most famous character in Nordic mythology; the god of thunder Thor serve as foundation for it. Hohlbein is going to present the compelling fantasy adventure full of action, dramatics, love, passion, and conflict within the course of this event. The classic story is being rendered in a modern way with all means of our time (Internet, Interactive Websites, and Forums, Books, Music, Video Games and many more).
“During the creational process the band and I first realizes this effort’s huge potential.” says Wolfgang Hohlbein. “It was almost as if the characters would take control and show us the way.”, he adds. “Nordic mythology is so abundant with characters that we decided to create a whole universe.” says MANOWAR bassist Joey DeMaio. “We found an online platform would be the perfect tool to complement our works; with unlimited space to tell further stories. From there on ideas literally exploded. We decided the fans should become a part of the creative team, so we developed an interactive website with possibilities for various groups to contribute. The Asgard saga premiers exclusively on Magic Circle Festival III. A diversified line-up of bands can be seen there as well. Different activities on early evening before the festival offer the fans diversity and the chance to learn more about the Asgard Saga, a project of epic scales.
