Wave Gotik Treffen 2009
Like every year, thousands of gothic-fans get together in Leipzig to listen to their favourite kinds of music. Of course, it's time for the annual Wave Gotik Treffen! The biggest gothic festival of the world is coming up and it's surely gonna be as great as always. Like every year, many bands and artists will play all over Leipzig to show you their great music. And of course, there will be other events like art shows and shopping markets, too. All kinds of music will be played like metal, medieval and of course electronic music. So, be sure to be there to be able to enjoy the various kinds of music, the shows and the flair of the Wave Gotik Treffen!

DIRK DARMSTÄDTER
Born 1965 in Hamburg and grown up in the USA, firstly the singer and songwriter DIRK DARMSTÄDTER was crazy about baseball. By returning to Germany, he had to quit his baseball career and decided to concentrate on playing music. Finally, he became the lead singer of the pop band JEREMY DAYS in 1986, whose debut album `Brand New Toy´ (including the famous hits `Are you inventive?´ and `Brand New Toy´) caused quite a stir in Germany and the UK.

After their 2001 debut ‘Melody A.M’, selling over 1,000,000 copies ever since, and the acclaimed follow-up ‘The Understanding’ from 2005, RÖYKSOPP return with a new studio album on 20th March 2009. Again the Bergen-based duo has done all the songwriting, recording, arranging, producing, and mixing alone. Besides the voices of Berge and Brundtland, special guest vocal appearances by Anneli Drecker, Karin Dreijer-Andersson (The Knife), Lykke Li and Robyn can be heard on the new album.- Details

‘Augen auf und durch’ so the title of the debut by Berlin-based trio LENZ, coming to us in spring, so open your eyes and ears, as the album also offers lyrics between the two poles of thoughtfulness and irony. The music: Always looking for the perfect pop song with lots of guitar plucks and keys, mingled with wonderful melodies and thought-provoking German-tongued lyrics. Being a guitar band with a keyboard back in the early days, a signature band sound developed with the piano as a core element, which even sounds huge, when performed live.- Details

The band has been nominated and rewarded in six categories of the German Rock and Pop Newcomers Award. As “Best Song of the Year National”, the track ‘Unsterblich’ has been chosen, which is going to be released now as the second single off of the album on 13th February 2009.
