LALAH aka Dörte Benzer is composer, singer, drummer and on good days a poet. In her Hamburg studio Raffinade, she’s recording the songs and in-between she’s travelling to Denmark to compose time and again or designs covers for Mangas if she needs money. She loves movies like Fargo and in summer she likes to swim or hang around. Her mainly self-produced album ‘Ich wär soweit’ is going to be released on 2nd February 2009. LALAH is being featured on the album by JOHNY LIEBLING (Universal Jazz) and OCKER (Popup Records). So far she’s performed on albums by PUNCH TB and HIPPIEHAUS, played live on the South By Southwest Festival in Austin and at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, booked together a small tour via internet and played live and solo with MD-Player at Poetry Slams in Harlem and as special guest at the legendary Friday Night Slam in Nuyorican.- Details

If the NME is right – and who’s to doubt that – then he’s the world’s best drummer and even if one’s taking the opinion of the NME as ‘not authoritative’ for their own judgement, it should have come to their ears that Jaki Libezeit isn’t just an icon of the drumming genre because of his significant contributions to the beyond-all-doubts albums with CAN, but because he has – outside of the CAN empire – a reputation that is rarely to be seen. Which club wouldn’t be pleased to call such a member one of their own? The Voodoo Club of Philip Boa doesn’t have to hope any longer. They’re glad because Jaki Liebzeit has joined the Voodoo club as new studio member. That can be heard on the upcoming new album of PHILLIP BOA & THE VOODOO CLUB. Now, the last KNORKATOR tour is over and it was great and a little bit sad at the end. And also ALF ATOR is sitting sad in his newly opened Hotel in Thailand and reads his employees from his book ‘Die satanischen Achillesverse’ (Eulenspiegel Verlag), only that they don’t understand German and the book hasn’t been translated yet, hence there’s the one or other reading date in Germany. After BLUND MYSELF with the cartoon video to ‘Lost in Time’ have been nominated for Best Video at MTV’s US Headbanger’s Ball, M.A.N and their video clip to ‘My Own Sickness’ have now been nominated as well at Swedish Metal Awards 2009 for ‘Best Video’. Their performance video is no typical Metal video with a pervasive dark mood created by gloomy horror scenery, but surprises with a bright room and a pink drum-kit. At the voting, you just have to choose M.A.N in ‘Video’, fill in your E-Mail address and send it off. You can vote until 17th January 2009, so there’s still some time left. A tall, slender woman in a tight cat suit enters the stage, enchants with her friendly smile every single one in the audience, just to blow them all away with her voice only seconds later. Grog, Al and Mr.Drew brilliantly started their tour on 15th December in Hamburg and cast a spell on every single attendee. With an excellent performance, they could convey their mega sound that convinced. They still have one date left in Germany in Munich on 18th December. DIE SO FLUID gets supported by four different support bands by the way, determined by a contest at MySpace Germany. These bands have – after they’ve played the support shows in their respective cities – the chance to win a gig in London and a bass, signed by the band.
