The minor sound to the soul month. STOA return with ‘Silma’ after seven years with international line-up. The new album of the music philosophers surprises in more than one way. Surprising is the release of ‘Silmand’ itself, a sit was very silent around STOA for the last 7 years. Fans will be happy that STOA mastermind stays true to himself with his fourth album either. Besides the usual melancholy, unusual pop rhythms found their way on the diverse albums, but the typical STOA sound is still distinct. The vocal lines harbour some surprises as well. For once there’s the angelic voice of singer Mandy Bernhardts, known from the live performances of the band; on the other hand, the voices of three guest singers sound on ‘Silmand’.- Details

With ‘Essential – a collection of rare and exclusive tracks’ a compilation that comes up with the most notable and partly exhausted songs of the last 12 years gets released in September 2008. Besides unreleased remixes, you can look forward two brand-new songs, giving a small glimpse on the upcoming album ‘Loginside’, the band is currently working on.

BLACK HEAVEN, the established Goth Rock project of Martin Schindler (Mantus, Sepia) now comes up with it sixth studio album. ‘Negativ’ once more promises gloomy to mystic sounds, packed in mostly danceable songs with German and English vocals, supported by singer Tina who can convince with her emotional voice just like she did with MANTUS. Thematically, the album explores the dark abysms of the soul and deals with the essential peripheries of human existence. The album is released in a limited forts digi-pack edition with a poster. The whole artwork was designed by ‘Mira Lob’ and rounds off the album to an extraordinary synthesis of the arts.- Details

For a long time, Essen, as shopping city, has a good reputation in the medieval and gothic scene will either live up to its reputation culturally.
