Dark-Electro-Gothic-Pop-EBM? On “No Paradise”, Avoid Kharma refuse to be easily pigeonholed. Front man and mastermind David K. (ex-Trümmerwelten) and his gang fuse heavy Gothic pathos with fat beats, solid synth sounds and catchy melodies to a versatile, dark and floor-smashing mix. Whether they are creating straightforward Dark-Electro-anthems in the vein of old Terminal Choice or Project Pitchfork, touching on sequencer-laden EBM-attacks or losing themselves in atmospheric Electro Goth – the group’s beats always provide a rock-solid foundation, over which Dave delivers the melodies with a sonorous, deep voice.
