Most people know Billy Bob Thornton as actor or the cracked up ex-husband of Angelina Jolie. But since 2001 he’s also a musician and releases his meanwhile fifth album in his new formation THE BOXMASTERS. THE BOXMASTERS are: W.R. 'Billy Bob' Thornton (Drums, Vocals / Background Vocals), J.D. Andrew (Guitar, Bass, Background Vocals) and Mike Butler (Guitar). Together with Billy Bob they’re now releasing the double CD ‘The Boxmasters’. The sound is a combination of the influences of THE BEATLES, THE ROLLING STONES, JOHNNY Cash and HANK WILLIAMS. The up-tempo beats and infecting arrangements remind of the 1960s, but stand in sharp contrast to the dark topics they pick up in their lyrics.
